Record Store Day!!!

If you know me you know i dig indie record shops. This year was the 3rd annual Record shop day in the US where there are sales, and exclusive cds and 7in eps, etc. I was bummed about missing it this year, but i discovered one record shop in CPH celebrating it. So i ventured out and found it. it was in the middle of a residential area. strange. but to my surprise there was a concert in the basement! and i was just in time for the start. You had to climb down a really steep ladder to get down there, and the room was probalby around 12'x12' square or something, but had a full band and 25ish fans. Amazing. short show but loads of fun. Danish punk rock is great. It was an amazing and unexpected record store day experience.

The Queen's BIrthday

Friday, the 16th of April was her Majesties 70th Birthday. Pictures will do it more justice!

The Royal family!
The Queen and her price. apparently no one likes him much cuz hes french and has an accent. They love the queen tho! she is an artist, and a fashion designer, and archeologist, among other things.

The Royal Carriage going to pick the queen up. bikes follow of course.
The Masses
Awesome crown
Tons of kids. I helped some lady hoist a lil girl on her shoulders. i woulda liked to hoist a kid up too but i have none of my own and it seemed odd to ask someone if they wanted their kid to have a way better view.
Ariel. i dig the reflection.
Brian
Annie
Running towards the front after the band goes by. madness.
Parade. We were in the way so we kept walking ahead of the parade so we could find a place to sit..which was awesome. its like having your own path cleared though a crowd for you,and we got way closer to the front.
Marching band. and kinder-gardeners.
golden apple in the fountain by school. cant rotate it for some reason.
I have no idea...
Crowds.

Paris

I went to Paris. I came back from Paris. Here is the evidence.

Classically planned parks with perfect rows of trees are surprisingly cool.
In this park you could not touch the grass. you could only sit in chairs....
View from the 2nd platform of the eiffel tower. thats like half way up. we didnt get to make it to the top. long story.
Le Corbusier's Villa Sayvoy. One of the most important buildings in Modern Architiecture. Was way cooler than expected.
Gotan! in the paris subway....
Donkey Kong pads!!!! Taken in Bernard Tschumi's park. there is a video of this i will try to add soon.

Awesome playground in part of the Tschumi park. Reminds me of Eric. he woulda had so much fun here.
Zip line. we got kicked out of this playground not long after...we think. they were speaking to us in french and spanish.
More Tschumi
Pompidou Center
The Metro signs!!!! so exciting. one of the few existing examples of the Art nouvou style in an urban context. They are from the 1910-20s and still look amazing.
The Louve.
Mona Lisa. I was told there was a civilized line to see it. lies. just a mob.
Louve.
Where the writers of the lost generation hung out. James Joyce, etc. i got a new book of poems called the Boy Moon. i havent laughed so hard in a long time.
Love, love this hahahha. on a swingset behind the Norte dame.
most expensive facde in the world. no lie.
awsome building not too far from where i stayed. revamped dock. part is a fashion school. the rest is unused.
'Nough said
Notre Dame
same as above, but in the daytime.
Basketball game in the park. i jumped into the next two games. it felt so good to play again! its been almost a years since my last real game. and this was the first day i could go outside in just a tshirt with no jackets in probably months. amazing.
got a cd i have been looking for 5 years for. but its copy protected so i still havent heard it yet.
Kangaroos!
